What a busy time of year in kindergarten! We've been practicing our names, writing numbers from 0-10, counting, using ten frames and tally marks, sorting, making patterns, building our "Reading to Self" stamina in Daily 5, (we're up to 6 minutes!), comparing things, working on our listening skills, practicing our letters and sounds, learning color words and sign language, and so much more!
We spent last week learning about Johnny Appleseed, aka John Chapman, the apple life cycle, apple tasting and graphing, and lots of other things about apples as we transitioned from summer to fall. We also learned a few new songs and nursery rhymes, as well as, other poems. Plus, we managed to sneak in some art, play, and snack! Recounting all the things we've done, no wonder we're all so tired at the end of the day! Happy - but tired. Now we're getting ready for our Walk-a-thon and we'll be focusing on Germs this week - and how to avoid them; along with other safety practices. In addition, we'll be practicing writing and spelling the words: I, can, the, is, you, do; as well as, working on writing sentences. There will also be stories, math, hands-on activities, songs, and more! Until next time, enjoy the beautiful fall weather!
