I hope all your children had a great first week of school; I know I did but I was exhausted when all was said and done. We read many stories, chased Pete the Cat around, learned about our "Kissing Hands," talked about bullies, bullying, and what to do as a bystander, played, learned a calendar poem, practiced printing our names with 1 capital letter, practiced routines, learned about the rules, met new people, learned sign language for "bathroom," had breakfast, went to gym, music, computer, media, art and did lots of art in the classroom! Whew!
During the second week we'll keep reviewing and practicing those rules and routines; as well as, learning new skills and concepts. We'll have some special days for wearing certain colors and begin learning how to read and spell color words. Plus, there will be art projects, songs, poems, stories, and so much more! Things move pretty fast in kindergarten. As Ferris Bueller said, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop to look around once in a while, you could miss it." Until next time, take a look around and enjoy.
