October has been a whirlwind of pumpkins galore and more! We've been learning all about the life cycle of a pumpkin, hearing pumpkin, harvest, and Halloween stories, listening to spooky music, doing the silly skeleton dance, writing about things that scare us and things that we like, making out lists, building our stamina as we learn to read to ourselves, learning poems and songs, practicing our numbers to 20 and counting to over 35, working with shapes, discovering patterns, and more!!!
We've already learned these letters: Aa, Cc, Mm, Pp, Rr, Ss, and Tt; and the sounds that they make. Plus, we continue to work on learning how to read and spell our color words; as well as, the following sight words: the, my, a, am, like, and I. In addition, Harry the Husky has had so many wonderful adventures and we've all enjoyed sharing his stories of his times at home with friends. (Everyone will get one long turn and one short turn to spend time with Harry at their home this year.) It's amazing how much we've learned in such a short time and how fast our days go. Come to our room and see the piles of things we have explored and have yet to explore but eagerly anticipate! We keep finding more things we want to learn about and share with each other! Our room is decorated with art for the season and hopefully, your child has been sharing some of their other creations at home with you, as well. Please watch for a "giant" Humbug Witch to come home soon. Each of your children has such a wonderful and unique personality; it has been my privilege to be able to share in their personal growth and watch them develop into these wonderful young people.
