Despite the rainy weather, we had a fantastic time and stayed dry as we participated in the Walk-a-thon over at the BECC. We began with a half-hour walk on the elevated track and enjoyed watching the other classes play games down below. Then, it was our turn to play and try out some new activities while the other classes walked. It was so much fun and a the Walk-a-thon was a roaring success!! We raised over $19,000 as a school!! WAY TO GO ALBANY ELEMENTARY! The money will be used to fund field trips, speakers, a movie, educational activities, and more! Today, several staff members got their hair and heads painted as a celebration of our achievement. On Friday, we'll celebrate with a pajama/movie day! In the academic realm, we've been mastering printing our name, learning letters/sounds and how to print those letters, focusing on color words and shapes, counting forwards and backwards, learning to recognize numbers, practicing using tally marks and ten frames, listening to stories, making some great art projects, and so much more. I just don't know where our days go because they fly by so fast!!! It seems we just get started and it is already time to go - even the kids are surprised! Hopefully, we haven't seen the last of the nice fall days. Enjoy the fall colors and keep on learning!
