I hope everyone is having a great summer! I spent the first week of June in meetings and cleaning up the classroom. Then, I headed out to Washington State with part of my family for a wedding of a very close friend of the family and to visit friends in the town we used to live in. The weather was beautiful and even the drive out was enjoyable (27 1/2 hours each way)! Four drivers made the time go quickly and we got to spend a lot of quality time together making great memories. If there was a downside, it was that a few of my kids and their significant others couldn't go with due to jobs and school. Even so, the wedding was wonderful, friends were fantastic, the weather cooperated, the drive was scenic, the places we visited were great, and the whales were amazing! Now it's home and time for some bookwork and studying for next year, (yes, even teachers have homework), and lots of painting, patio building, yard work, and more at the house we'll be moving into in a few months. Keep making the most of those beautiful sunny days!

What an incredible end to the school year! The last few weeks started with Fun Friday Flurry outdoor activities on a beautiful day! Then, the next week we enjoyed a visit from the Minnesota Zoo, as well as, a visit from two different orchestras (Moorhead High School and Apollo High School), and a wonderful Bike Rodeo with a Dairy Queen treat, and an amazing Family Fun Night! We also had a successful Walk-a-thon and great activities to boot! We even squeezed in some more academics along with a movie and more treats. Finally, we ended the year with a great slide show and a fond farewell to our retiring principal - Mrs. Weis-Clough.
I am look forward to a rest from our busy year and some time to enjoy warmer weather (hopefully, it gets here soon!); however, it is with great sadness that I say good bye to this group of kindergarteners! I have truly enjoyed teaching them and being a part of their lives. I hope everyone has a wonderful summer full of time with family, friends, and great memories! |
