We have been super busy learning our colors, learning our color words, learning how to spell our color words, and learning how to say our color words in American Sign Language. We've also made a giant paper ice cream cone and a paper pack of crayons. These kids love learning sign language!
Our famous person of the month is John Chapman aka Johnny Appleseed. Where would we be without apples! In addition, we've been spending time reading to ourselves as we learn about Daily 5 and become experts at "Read To Self". Our whole class was able to read silently for 1 minute without anyone losing focus the first day we tried "Read to Self", and 3 minutes the second day - AMAZING! We are a class of learners and our brains are growing! Our days are spent in literature, art, writing, numbers, music, and so much more. We are busy! Ask your child to sing some of the songs and poems we've been learning - they will surprise you! Next week we'll be learning all about bus safety before we head into Fire Safety. Enjoy the beautiful colors of fall!

Wow! What a week! I can't believe how fast it's gone and how much we've done. Pete the Cat took us on a wild goose chase through the school and we finally found him in the Surprise Box! We even learned a few Pete the Cat songs. Plus we made some special art projects, practiced our drawing , worked on learning how to print our names, and so much more!
