It is so hard to believe that October is almost over - these months are just flying by!
I can't wait to see how everyone is disguising their turkeys; there are so many original and creative ideas and they always look great. Everyone enjoys seeing them hanging up.
This coming month will bring more work on patterns, shapes, numbers, sight words, beginning reading, letters and sounds, word blending, word families, and counting. We will also look at how people lived long ago. I already told the kids that when I was growing up we only had 4 channels on a black and white tv, no dvd/vcr or cell phones (neither had been invented yet - oops, now I'm dating myself). Anyway, the shocked look on their faces was priceless. One student said, "How did you live?!" I told him we spent a lot of time playing outside, reading, and playing board games. They all thought that those things sounded pretty good. I agreed!
Well, it is time for me to recover a bit from all the Halloween excitement and to start planning the next lessons.
Take care and enjoy the last of the fall colors.
