What a whirlwind of a November! Even though it's still fall, it looks more like winter out there! The weather really took a turn for the worse; hopefully it will warm up enough for all of us to have a little winter fun.
I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving and that your child was able to share some things they learned about the Native Americans and how important they were to the first Thanksgiving. We made a "life-size" Squanto, learned about the Ojibwe, (also known as the Chippewa), the Sioux, and the Wampanoag tribes. We learned about their different homes and their lifestyles, learned a few Native American games, heard lots of stories, watched some movies that showed how they lived, and explored their world through a few art projects. Thanks for sharing all the great turkeys who were disguised in so many clever ways! Also, thank you for all the generous donations to our Coat Drive service project. Remember, it ends on the 12th! I'm really looking forward to Special Person's Day on the 19th! Until then, stay warm and enjoy the beauty of the season and spending time with family and friends.

Wow! With the donations we collected at school, combined with those from area businesses and community members, we were able to pack 108 boxes - that's 28 boxes over last year's total of 80. Each box was packed with toothpaste, toothbrushes, a notebook, pens, pencils, soap and a washcloth, crayons, a pencil sharpener, stuffed animal, another toy, and a few other odds and ends. These boxes will go needy children in impoverished nations all over the world. It's so hard to imagine not having even the basic of needs in life! So thank you for your generosity in helping make the life a child better.
