We had a great time in November sharing our disguised Tom Turkeys and learning all about the Pilgrims and Native Americans; your children are fascinated by history! ( I love it, too!) They could hardly believe that there was a time when people didn't have electricity, refrigerators, cell phones, and other electronic devices. They also found it interesting that not all children got to go to school and that they had many chores to do. It was sad to learn that almost half the Pilgrims died before the first Thanksgiving, but it was exciting to learn that the first Thanksgiving lasted three days!
Well, now it's on to the next holiday and learning about how others celebrate the season. Today we spent time thinking of ways we could make the Grinch grin. We're looking forward to Special Person's Day, lots of art, learning, and more over the next few weeks. Then, we'll say "Hello" to winter as it begins on our first Saturday of vacation.
